महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा परीक्षा तीन टप्यांत घेण्यात येते.
पूर्व परीक्षा – 100 गुण
मुख्य परीक्षा – 400 गुण
मुलाखत – 50 गुण
पूर्व परीक्षेत 100 प्रश्न 100 गुणांसाठी असून ही परीक्षा वस्तुनिष्ठ बहुपर्यायी स्वरूपाची असते. मुख्य परीक्षेत दोन पेपर असतात. प्रत्येक पेपरमध्ये 100 प्रश्न 200 गुणांसाठी विचारले जातात. या सर्व परीक्षांचा अभ्यासक्रम खाली दिला आहे.

महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा पूर्व परीक्षेत 100 प्रश्न 100 गुणांसाठी असून ही परीक्षा वस्तुनिष्ठ बहुपर्यायी स्वरूपाची असते. यामध्ये मराठी भाषा, इंग्रजी भाषा व सामान्य अध्ययन या विषयांवर प्रश्न विचारले जातात. हा पेपर सोडवण्यासाठी एक तासाचा वेळ दिला जातो. खाली महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा पूर्व परीक्षेचा अभ्यासक्रम दिला आहे.
Maharashtra Forest Services preliminary exam consists of 100 questions for 100 marks. The time to solve this paper is one hour. The syllabus for Maharashtra Forest Services preliminary exam is given below.

- English Language
- Current Affairs of National and International Importance.
- General Mental Ability (Logical reasoning, analytical ability, problem solving, basic numeracy)
महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा मुख्य परीक्षा अभ्यासक्रम | MPSC Forest Mains Syllabus
महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा मुख्य परीक्षा एकूण 400 गुणांची असून यामध्ये दोन विषयांची परीक्षा घेतली जाते. प्रत्येक पेपरमध्ये 200 गुणांसाठी 100 प्रश्न विचारले जातात. प्रत्येक पेपर सोडवण्यासाठी एक तासाचा वेळ असतो. खाली महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा मुख्य परीक्षेचा अभ्यासक्रम दिला आहे.
Maharashtra Forest Service Mains exam consists of two papers. Each Question paper has 100 questions for 200 marks. Each paper has one hour time to solve it. The syllabus for Maharashtra Forest Services Mains exam is given below.

General Studies
- History of India with emphasis on that of Maharashtra.
- Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and the World, Emphasis on that Maharashtra.
- Indian polity and Governance, Constitution and Political System, Rural and Urban local self-Government.
- Economic and Social Development
Syllabus for Paper II
General Science & Nature Conservation
1) General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology)
2) Nature Conservation
- Soils: – Physical, chemical and biological properties. Processes and factors of soil formation. Mineral and organic constituents of soil and their role in maintaining soil productivity. Soil profile. Problem soils and their reclamation.
- Soil and moisture conservation:- Causes of soil erosion, method of control, role of forest, characteristics of and steps in Watershed Management.
- Eco Systems: – Types, food chain, food web, ecological pyramids, energy flow, biogeochemical cycle of carbon and nitrogen.
- Manures and Fertilizers:- Types, organic – inorganic.
- Diseases and pests of plants and animals.
- Pesticides and insecticides.
- Injurious plants and weeds.
- Environmental Pollution:- Types, control, bio-indicators, endangered species.
- Environmental problems related to quarrying and mining.
- Greenhouse effect, Carbon trading, Climate Change.
- Important wild animals of India.
- Breeds of cattle, Economics of fodder and pasture of grassland management.
- Important indigenous trees species of India, exotic plants, plants as a source of forest products such as food, fibre, fuel wood, timber, non-timber, forest produce/minor forest produce. Medicinal plants, Energy plantations, Mangroves, Forest based industries.
- Factors effecting growth and distribution of plants. Forest types of India.
- National parks and Sanctuaries, World heritage sites.
- Social forestry, Joint Forest Management, Agro forestry.
- Indian forest policy, Indian Forest Act, Wild Life Protection Act, Forest Conservation Act, 1980.
- National and International Organization working for nature conservation.
- Use of aerial photographs, thematic maps. Satellite imageries, Principle and application of GIS.
- Biodiversity, causes of loss of biodiversity, importance of biodiversity conservation.

महाराष्ट्र वन सेवा परीक्षा तीन टप्यांमध्ये घेण्यात येते. यामध्ये पूर्व परीक्षा 100 गुणांची, मुख्य परीक्षा 400 गुणांची व मुलाखत ही 50 गुणांची असते.
या प्रश्नपत्रिकांच्या उत्तरपत्रिका प्रत्येक प्रश्नपत्रिकेच्या शेवटी जोडण्यात आल्या आहेत. Answer key is available at the end of question paper.
